Diamond is the hardest substance known to man and the best cutting tool
for hard construction, industrial, and stone materials.
Diamond Blades are the fastest, least expensive way to cut most hard materials.
HOW DIAMOND BLADES WORK....
Industrial grade diamonds are mixed with metal powders like cobalt, iron, and tungsten carbide then cooked at extremely high temperatures and hig pressures to form segments. The segments are then attached, usually by laser welding, to a steel core or tube. The blade or bit is then pre-conditioned by grinding part of the metal powder away to expose the diamonds as sharp cutting points ready to cut.
For a diamond blade to work properly, the right type, size, and quantity of diamonds moust be combined with the correct blendof metal powders commonly called the bond. The bond must wear away at just the right rate to allow diamonds that have become dull to fall away and expose new sharp points.
As a rule of thumb, soft abrasive materials, such as concrete block and asphalt, require hard wear resistant bonds. Hard dense materials like cured concrete or brick require soft, free cutting bonds.
